Amarillo Connected

The City of Amarillo’s CIO, Rich Gagnon, presented plans to provide, free, municipal WiFi service. This will build on work already begun by AISD as part of the COVID response, but ithis is part of an initiative that has been in the works for almost a year. Dell, LG, Intel, JAM and Addison Healthcare were in attendance, but final partners should be announced soon.

The plan is for a very rapid rollout with local partnerships helping to reduce cost and extend reach, but funding is already available, including some potential federal funds.

A video of the presentation should be posted publicly soon with more details to come.
